The Morningside Student Government (MSG) is committed to supporting student organizations on campus through financial allocations. Please read the following guidelines carefully to ensure a successful allocation request process.

To be eligible for an allocation request, the student organization must meet the following criteria:

Registration and Good Standing: The organization must be registered and in good standing with the MSG. This includes compliance with MSG guidelines and policies.
Maximum Allocation: The maximum amount any student group can receive in a given academic year is $4,000. Please keep this limit in mind when preparing your request.

The Finance Committee will review your allocation request based on the following criteria:

Completeness of the Form: They will assess the completeness and accuracy of your submitted allocation request form.
Fundraising Efforts: The committee will consider your group's fundraising efforts as an indicator of your commitment to the initiative.
Impact on the Student Body: They will evaluate the potential impact and/or ramifications of your request on the broader student community.

If the Finance Committee approves your allocation request, it will then be presented to the Student Senate. A representative from your group will have the opportunity to give a presentation to the Student Senate. A simple majority vote is necessary for your allocation request to pass. We encourage you to prepare a compelling presentation that clearly outlines the benefits of your proposal to the student body.

Please note that allocation requests are considered throughout the academic year. The funds are available on a first come, first service basis. View the calendar below to see a list of upcoming meetings.

Student groups may not receive funding for the following purposes:

Food or beverages.
Expenses incurred by a chaperone attending a trip.
Any form of reimbursement, except in adherence to the Morningside University expense reimbursement on mileage.
